City Council Approves Incentives for Cinergy's High-Tech Complex |
Corpus Christi is set to welcome a transformative $40 million entertainment complex on the city's Southside.
The City Council has approved a Chapter 380 incentive agreement, granting up to $4.15 million in tax rebates over 15 years to support the development.
Located at the corner of Rodd Field Road and South Padre Island Drive, the 90,000-square-foot Cinergy Entertainment flagship will feature luxury bowling lanes, a multi-option virtual reality universe, and a Texas-style "Live Life" sports bar designed for both families and young adults.
City officials project that the development will generate more than $16 million in net tax revenue for the community during that span—even after rebates.
Construction is slated to begin early next year, with completion expected in late 2026.
Traci Hanlon, Cinergy's VP of Marketing & Sales, touts the center as "a next-generation entertainment destination," while District 4 Councilwoman Kaylynn Paxson highlights its broad economic and social benefits: "It brings an incredible amenity not just to our district but our entire city."
With its blend of immersive gaming, upscale bowling, and a vibrant social hub, the new entertainment park promises to boost local tourism, create hundreds of jobs, and offer residents a cutting-edge leisure venue without leaving town. |
